    Notare Hutterer & Weiß

The Notary's Office Hutterer & Weiß is located on Marienplatz in Munich, directly opposite the city hall. The aim of the redesign of the three floors was to achieve a coherent appearance of all areas and to optimize the lighting situation.

Restructuring

The enclosed rooms prevented natural light from entering the core area. In addition, the corridors on the second floor were additionally darkened by an unused library in the middle zone.

We therefore decided to completely restructure the main floor. The interior walls were removed and an open communication zone with a kitchenette was created. The dark corridors were completely removed and an additional waiting area for customers was added to complement the use of the core space.

The closed walls of the external offices were replaced with glass partitions to create more openness. This provides the new central zone with additional natural light and creates an unprecedented quality of stay. If required, curtains provide privacy within the offices.

Design Concept

The clients wanted to create spaces that referenced the excellent location on Marienplatz. The materials used had to be of the appropriate quality and durability.

The design language and the color concept result in a representative and modern overall picture. The polygonal shapes, which are repeated in the monolithic bar, the ceiling and the large-format herringbone parquet flooring, are characteristic of the style.

The newly designed staircase forms the connecting element of wood and steel across all floors. Particular attention was paid to the lighting design in order to set the scene for the rooms and create an inviting and pleasant atmosphere.

The redesign was honored with a nomination for the Best Workspace Award 2024.
